What kick-started as a regional food and wine festival in Galicia, northwest Spain, Spanish Extravaganza, on recognising its potential as a melting pot of various foods and wines, went international and soon grew up to fame showcasing the lively gastronomic affair that the country possesses when it comes to scrumptious delicacies and wines.
Dating back to their first international stop at London, the Tapas Masters, Michelin-star Chefs and Sommeliers left the city in awe with their “Don’t Assume” menu that was full of surprising creations and thoughtful wine-pairings. This led the festival to have several other stints mapping throughout the world from Brussels to Vienna to coming to India in 2018.
Hosted at the iconic Taj Hotels in Mumbai and Delhi, the three-day festival at each destination, presented the wonderful culinary creations and wines handmade by Michelin-star chefs Miguel Barrena and Ignacio Solana; Tapas experts María Varela and Álvaro Villasante, and sommeliers Jon Andoni Rementeria, Manuel Corralero and Alejandro Paadín.
Aiming to bring together all the mesmerising experiences that Spain offers on a silver platter, Spanish Extravaganza goes an extra mile to serve them all together to the festival-goers in their home countries. From making the visitors feel the hot, dusty roads of the south, the soul-stirring Flamenco, Tapas street-life to the Arabic past, to the calm lush north and the paella-loving Mediterranean Coast, Spanish Extravaganza ensures that it is all ingrained within the visitors as they absorb the culture that this window to the country showcases.
Having presented in Shanghai, Seoul, India and Singapore, the festival prides itself to be well received by the Asian patrons and aims big to reach out to more countries.
