From the creators of Kochi Express and Chaat Ministry comes Curry Crown—a culinary dream crafted to reimagine Indian dining. Inspired by a shared love for food and hospitality, the brand brings together soulful North Indian curries, coastal delights, and global favourites, all served in a lively, modern setting. In this Q&A, Paras Teotia, Co-Founder of Curry Crown unveils the story, philosophy, and bold vision of transforming it into India’s next premium dining landmark.
What inspired you to start Curry Crown, the concept behind it?
Curry Crown was born out of our collective love for food and hospitality. After building successful ODC (Outdoor Catering) brands like Kochi Express and Chaat Ministry, we wanted to create a premium dining experience that goes beyond traditional Indian restaurants. The concept was to blend authentic multi-cuisine flavours North Indian, South Indian, and global favourites with a vibrant bar and contemporary ambiance, giving guests a complete culinary experience.
How do you differentiate Curry Crown from the numerous Indian cuisine outlets in the region?
While many outlets focus on one cuisine, Curry Crown stands out as a multi-cuisine destination with a strong Indian soul, complemented by a modern bar setup. Our chefs curate recipes using traditional techniques with contemporary plating, ensuring every dish tells a story. We also emphasize consistent quality, warm hospitality, and curated experiences, making Curry Crown a place for both casual dining and special occasions.
Are there any plans to expand the brand—either through delivery kitchens, new outlets, or franchising?
Yes. We’re building strong outdoor catering (ODC) operations and evaluating new delivery kitchen formats to reach a wider audience. Franchising and launching new outlets in key NCR locations are also on our roadmap for 2025–26.
What culinary philosophy drives the kitchen at Curry Crown?
Our philosophy is simple “flavour first, with no shortcuts.” We believe in slow cooking for depth, fresh sourcing for purity, and thoughtful presentation to create a complete sensory experience.
Which dish or technique best represents your personal touch or signature style at the restaurant?
Our North Indian curries and South Indian specialties are the heart of Curry Crown. However, dishes like our signature Dal Curry Crown and coastal-inspired prawn curries reflect the perfect balance between authenticity and innovation — a signature of our culinary team.
Are you exploring health-forward or alternative diet options (e.g., low-oil, millet-based, or vegan)?
Absolutely. We understand the growing demand for health-conscious dining, so we’ve started introducing low-oil preparations and vegan options into our menu. Our goal is to offer flavourful choices for every lifestyle without compromising on taste.
Upcoming trends that Curry Crown wants to tap into?
We see a rising trend towards regional Indian cuisines, craft cocktails, and experiential dining. Curry Crown is already developing fusion menus, seasonal specials, and a bar program focused on innovative cocktails, ensuring we stay ahead of trends while staying true to our roots.
Expansion plans…
We aim to expand our ODC (Outdoor Catering) vertical and open CURRY CROWN in major cities across India. The long term vision is to make Curry Crown a recognizable premium dining brand nationwide, while strengthening our current ODC brands Kochi Express, Chaat Ministry as part of a larger hospitality group.
