Incredible challenge at an incredible venue

D Y Patil Deemed to be University School of Hospitality & Tourism Studies (DYPU-SHTS) is proud to host the Incredible Chef Challenge 2022, organised by World of Hospitality in association with Western India Culinary Association (WICA) on March 5, 2022. World of Hospitality is thankful to the Founder President of D. Y Patil Deemed to be University, Dr. D. Y Patil, who is a Padmashree Awardee, the Honourable Chancellor, Dr. Vijay D Patil and the Managing Trustee and First lady Mrs. Shivani V Patil for their generous support toward hosting this grand event at the campus of School of Hospitality & Tourism Studies, D. Y Patil Deemed to be University.

An incandescent leader, a charismatic visionary and a fervent entrepreneur, Dr. Vijay D Patil is the beacon-bearer in the field of education, sports, and healthcare in young India. Lauded for his contribution to all three fields, Dr. Patil’s quest for delivering the best in each domain prevails. It is his vision to bring about a change in hospitality industry and he believes that events like these are a great platform for the students to interact with the hospitality professionals. It is the vision of Dr. Vijay Patil to see students achieve excellence in the field of hospitality. Dr. Patil, being very fond of both Indian and international cuisines, wishes to see Indian hospitality on the global platform. He strongly believes in developing and delivering state-of-the-art infrastructure that will be instrumental in offering the best to hospitality students. It is due to this great infrastructure at DYPU-SHTS that World of Hospitality and WICA chose to host this event at this campus.

The expansive D Y Patil Sports stadium is Dr. Vijay Patil’s brainchild and it is because of this stadium that the hospitality students at DYPU-SHTS get to practice and witness global hospitality during National and international celebrity events like Justin Bieber concert, Katy Perry concert & Sports events like IPL, FIFA, and recently D Y Patil Sports Stadium has hosted FIFA under 17, AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2022.

The Alumni’s of DYPU-SHTS spread around the globe are the torchbearers of the hospitality industry. With the inspiration and constant support provided by Dr. Vijay D Patil and Mrs. Shivani V Patil, both being personally involved in the execution of the event, World of Hospitality is confident that the Incredible Chef Challenge 2022 will be a grand success.

Studio Kitchen

D Y Patil Deemed to be University, School of Hospitality and Tourism Studies believes in imparting hospitality education to the students and aims to shape graduates that are passionate, proficient, and ready to tackle tomorrow’s challenges head-on. With this purpose in mind, the infrastructure at the college is in keeping with the latest changes in the industry. Studio Kitchen is one of the well-designed kitchens planned to conduct live practical sessions for the students. Chefs, experts in their fields are invited to conduct demo sessions, so that students stay up-to-date with the changes in the industry.

Studio Kitchen is well-equipped with modern equipment, induction ranges, presentation crockery and cutlery, and all that is needed for live demo sessions. The Studio Kitchen has an added feature of ceiling mounted tilted demo mirror, due to which students when seated in the studio kitchen can actually see what is being demonstrated by various Master Chefs on the range. The studio kitchen has witnessed many Master Chefs and celebrity chefs live in action. Celebrity Chefs like Dr. Chef Vikas Khanna, Chef Harpal Sokhi, Chef Ajay Chopra, Peruvian Master Chef Julio Castillo, Chef Michael Swamy, Chef David Canazi, Chef Tushar Deshmukh, Chef Vaibhav Mahajan, Chef Altamash Patel, Master Chef Pankaj Bhadouria and Chef Manoj Rai have conducted masterclasses in the Studio Kitchen.
