As the celebration of Janmasthami in the Mathura-Vrindavan belt has always been an attractive proposition for the religious travellers, Raasvān, Mathura-Vrindavan: AM Hotel Kollection, a recently opened property, has tapped into this fervour. The hotel, part of the LaRiSa Hotels and Resorts, is a boutique retreat, offers a peaceful atmosphere catering to both spiritual travellers and those seeking relaxation.

Speaking to Incredible World of Hospitality News magazine, Randhir Narayan, Director, LaRiSa Hotels and Resorts, said, “Mathura and Vrindavan are witnessing a strong resurgence as key cultural and spiritual destinations. Deeply rooted in heritage and mythology, these towns offer more than just pilgrimage — they provide a layered experience of devotion, tradition, vibrant festivals, and intimate celebrations. Increasingly, they are also being chosen for milestone events like weddings, anniversaries, and family gatherings that seek a sacred and soulful setting.”

These town’s proximity to major cities like Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur makes them easily accessible for both short breaks and extended spiritual journeys, especially with improving road infrastructure. He added, “The rise in spiritual and conscious tourism is also driving new interest. Travellers today are seeking more meaningful getaways — places where they can reconnect with themselves, with culture, and with the stories that have shaped generations. Mathura and Vrindavan offer all of this, and more.”

The hotel is conscious of its F&B offerings. It offers a specially curated Braj Thali featuring authentic dishes of the region, served in a serene ambiance. In the evening, guests can also try the local delights like malai chai and mathri served at the hotel.

Janmashtami in Vrindavan is unlike anything else — a spiritual immersion that begins at midnight with mesmerising kirtans and culminates in the serene morning aartis at the most revered temples like Radha Ramana Temple & Shri Radhavallabh Lal Ji Temple. The hotel recommends starting the day early with a visit to Premanand Swamiji Ashram, followed by darshan at Radha Vallabh Ji to truly feel the divine presence in every moment.

But, what makes this property confident about the prospects? Are these towns viable options for commercial growth while preserving the spiritual and cultural essence of these destinations? Narayan said: “We choose locations that resonate with soul and purpose. With the opening of Raasvān, Vrindavan – AM Hotel Kollection, we see immense potential in offering thoughtfully curated stays that align with the rhythm and spirit of the destination. Our presence across India — including Bhimtal, Mussoorie, Manali, North & South Goa, and now Vrindavan — has shown us that travellers are drawn to places where tradition and comfort coexist. The key is to design experiences that are rooted in local culture, while ensuring ease, warmth, and authenticity.”

According to him, spiritual destinations like Vrindavan and Mathura are commercially viable — not in spite of their sacred character, but because of it. “When approached with sensitivity and respect, there is room to grow responsibly, create livelihood opportunities, and contribute positively to the local ecosystem — all while keeping the spiritual essence intact,” he summed.
