In line with the ethos and Tata Group values, The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) in Goa carried out various initiatives across its hotels providing aid to those who are deeply affected by the second wave of the on-going pandemic. Each hotel and hospitality unit extended support to its local community and the nearest medical facilities.
Taj Fort Aguada Resort & Spa and Taj Holiday Village Resort & Spa distributed medical kits comprising of masks, sanitisers, oximeters and thermometers to Arc of Hope, home for the aged in Candolim. As part of the #MealsToSmiles initiative by select IHCL hotels across the country, Taj Exotica Resort & Spa distributed meals in Benaulim to St. John The Baptist Quarantine Centre and Helping Hands, an initiative by the local community to help patients infected with the COVID-19 virus. Moreover, meals were also distributed to the Sub District Hospital, Chicalim; Government Health Centre, Cortalim and Government Health Centre, Cansaulim by the Taj Public Service Welfare Trust (TPSWT) and TajSATS, an IHCL company and India’s market leader in airline catering. Meal delivery service to a few Government Hospitals in South Goa will also be initiated shortly.
In addition to distributing medical essentials and thousands of meals, Taj Resort & Convention Centre, Goa and Cidade de Goa – IHCL SeleQtions encouraged their employees to volunteer for plasma donation at the Blood Bank, Goa Medical College. Basis the eligibility criteria, volunteers were informed about the process required to follow and accordingly directed by medical professionals.
Furthermore, IHCL, Goa recently conducted a vaccination drive for its employees achieving nearly 100% vaccination status across its hotels. Speaking on the initiatives undertaken, Vincent Ramos, Area Director – IHCL, Goa and General Manager – Taj Resort & Convention Centre, Goa said “IHCL, Goa is humbled to be of service to the state in its fight against the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Apart from distributing thousands of meals under variousumbrellas, the hotel teams have done a stupendous job in assisting the local communities under the guidance and leadership of the individual General Managers who went out of their way to help. During these challenging times, we are stronger when we stand together in our fight against the pandemic. IHCL continues to stands resolute with the people of Goa.”
